The Little White Church On The Hill

is an iconic spiritual beacon since 1892. Its rich history includes becoming the oldest church in Haines City and its listing on the National Register of Historic Places, with a significant expansion in 2013.

Historically,

Since 1892, St. Mark’s has stood as an iconic beacon of spirituality for everyone, regardless of background or beliefs. Its long-standing presence and architectural significance as an historic Carpenter Gothic Church was constructed through the efforts and financing through a man named Samuel Chase Hodgman. His legacy continues to echo through the centuries as the structure he built became a revered symbol of unity and spirituality.

 

St. Mark’s gained the affectionate title, “The Little White Church On the Hill,” an enduring testament to its iconic presence in the community. Its rich history includes becoming the oldest church in Haines City and led to its inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places on March 17, 1994, forever enshrining its relevance in the historic cityscape of Haines, City, Florida.  

An important chapter in the church’s history unfolded in 2013, when it expanded to meet the needs of a growing congregation.
